Job summary

Burns & McDonnell India is seeking an experienced Electrical Detail Designer to develop 3D models and 2D drawings for industrial power systems, including single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and grounding/lightning protection. You will lead a team of junior designers and coordinate with Lead Engineer to deliver within scope.

The role requires 8–15 years of electrical detail design experience, proficiency with SP3D, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D and Microstation, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Diploma or ITI in Electrical with relevant industry exposure.
• Experience with 3D engineering tools SP3D, Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D and Microstation.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for electrical systems in industrial facilities.
• Create single line diagrams, equipment layouts, hazard area drawings, interconnection drawings, lighting, grounding and lighting protection.
• Lead a team of junior designers and coordinate with Lead Engineer to execute electrical detail design.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to develop clash-free designs.
• Manage scope within schedule and budget, ensuring quality norms.
• Assist senior engineers in preparing and reviewing deliverables.
• Train new staff on tools and discipline practices.

Your Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for development of 3D model and 2D drawing of various electrical systems for industrial facilities including but not limited to single line diagram of power systems, electrical equipment layout, hazardous area classification drawing, interconnection & hook-up drawing, lighting, grounding and lightning protection systems.

2. Lead a team of younger designers and coordinate with Lead Engineer to execute Electrical detail design scope on projectes.

3. Coordinate with other disciplines and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free system design.

4. Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule, budget and complying with agreed project quality norms.

5. Assist more experienced engineers in preparing, coordinating and reviewing deliverables for the discipline.

6. Training new staff members on various tools and discipline practices.

7. Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization.

8. A committed team player able to work on own initiative.

9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

10. Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI / NCTVT Electrical.

2. Experience of exposure to 3D engineering tools like Smart Plant 3D (SP3D), Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD 2D and Microstation.

3. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook, OneNote

Experience:

1. Minimum 8-15 years of experience of Electrical detail design experience. 3D modeling, cable tray, ductbank, conduits design.

2. Experience creating and checking cable tray, lighting, grounding and equipment layouts.

3. Experience being in Lead designer position on a project for executing electrical scope on projects.
