Job summary

GE Vernova is recruiting an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead LV/MV hardware design for industrial drives and control panels. You will drive sizing, protection, and conductor routing, ensuring reliability and cost efficiency through simulations and calculations.

The role demands deep knowledge of motor control systems, strong documentation practice, and collaboration across System Engineering and Program teams, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master's degree in Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.
• Min. 10+ years of Electrical design for Industrial drives / Control Panels like PCC, MCC, Switchboards, PLC Panels etc.
• Preferred experience/knowledge in Electrical design / Simulation tools like AUTOCAD / E-Plan, ETAP and MATLAB
• In-depth knowledge of Motors /Drive control Systems.

Responsibilities

• LV/MV Hardware Drive Engineering – Core Electrical & Power Electronics (AC/DC systems)
• Drive & Filter Sizing, Product hardware design / loss budget calculation / Earth & Protection circuits /Arc Flash Calculation/ RCA.
• Understand product / project specifications and realize requirements to design using calculations, modeling and simulations.
• Design system/equipment to meet reliability, testing standards, manufacturability, material and cost guidelines
• Prepare & validate Design documents - Configurations, principles of operation, application guidelines, specifications, GA, BOM, SLD & Schematics drawings as per requirement.
• Verify functional performance of prototype hardware under all specified operating conditions.
• Support Manufacturing for component installation, wire harness, cables routing and maintain clarence and creepages at Factory / Vendor facility.
• Taking a lead for alternate component selection, validation and localization/testing.
• Document functional test requirements and conduct test according to applicable standards (UL/IEC etc.…) /conduct project FAT’s.
• Coordinate with System Engineer and Program / Product / Project manager execution on a continuous basis.
• May require travel as required.
