Job summary

Avineon India is seeking a senior GIS solutions leader to design, develop and deliver enterprise geospatial systems using ESRI technologies. You will guide offshore teams, translate requirements into scalable GIS architectures, and ensure successful delivery across the full project lifecycle.

The role requires 8+ years in GIS with at least 2+ years in leadership, strong English communication, and hands-on experience with ESRI web and mobile platforms.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Minimum 8+ years of experience in GIS, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role handling enterprise-level solutions, including the ESRI stack
• Strong experience in the geospatial industry, with expertise in ESRI (ArcGIS products) and CAD platforms; exposure to tools such as GE Small world / GTech is an added advantage
• Design and develop geospatial solutions to address complex business challenges
• Analyze customer requirements and translate them into scalable geospatial systems
• Architect and implement solutions using industry-standard GIS technologies, including ESRI web and mobile platforms
• Manage the end-to-end system lifecycle: design, development, deployment, and post-production support
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver innovative GIS solutions
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve geospatial system issues
• Track, monitor, and report project progress and deliverables
• Work closely with cross-functional and external teams for product development and delivery
• Design, develop, and optimize geospatial databases and applications
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for systems and processes
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend enhancements for GIS projects
• Lead offshore teams and successfully deliver projects using Agile methodologies

Key Deliverables / Required Skills

1. Excellent communication skills with fluency in spoken and written English
2. Strong expertise in GIS technologies, including GIS systems, GPS, cartography, and geodatabases
3. In-depth understanding of geospatial architecture, design standards, and industry best practices
4. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders
5. Proficiency in data management and analytics, including data integration, data mining, and predictive analysis
6. Strong experience in geospatial software development using languages such as Python, Java, and C#
7. Capability to design and deliver cost-effective geospatial solutions
8. Advanced problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills
9. Excellent organizational and project management abilities
10. Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and external vendors
11. Domain experience in Utility and Telecom sectors is preferred
12. ESRI certifications will be an added advantage.
