AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical BIM Engineer (Vertical Transportation) to develop and coordinate 3D BIM models for VT systems such as elevators and escalators. You will work within a multidisciplinary design environment to ensure compliant, high‑quality BIM outputs and drive digital engineering initiatives.
The role requires strong Revit/Navisworks/Dynamo skills, BIM standards knowledge, and experience with BEP/LOD requirements.
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Mechanical BIM Engineer (Vertical Transportation) to join our growing Vertical Transportation team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of some of the world's most complex and iconic developments, including commercial towers, mixed-use developments, airports, healthcare facilities, hospitality projects, and transportation hubs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary design environment, you will be responsible for the development, coordination, and management of BIM models for vertical transportation systems, including elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and specialist lifting solutions. You will play a key role in driving digital delivery excellence, ensuring high-quality BIM outputs, supporting project teams, and contributing to the continual advancement of BIM and digital engineering practices across the business. The successful candidate will combine strong technical BIM expertise with a collaborative approach, delivering accurate and coordinated models while working closely with engineers, architects, project stakeholders, and equipment suppliers.

Produce coordinated drawings, schedules, sections, and technical documentation directly from BIM models. Ensure BIM deliverables comply with project BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), client requirements, Level of Development (LOD) standards, and company procedures. Create, maintain, and enhance BIM families and parametric content related to vertical transportation systems. Support model-based design reviews, planning activities, and project visualisation initiatives.
Coordinate VT systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and public health disciplines. Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure integrated, clash-free models. Perform clash detection using applicable software and resolve conflicts with project stakeholders. Participate in BIM coordination meetings and provide technical solutions for design challenges. Update models to reflect design changes and feedback. Validate VT requirements like shaft dimensions, structural openings, pit depths, overhead requirements, machine room layouts, and access clearances. Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
Maintain model accuracy, consistency, and compliance with BIM standards. Conduct quality checks for BIM deliverables before submission. Support BIM Managers and discipline leads in preparing project BIM deliverables. Ensure proper version control and model updates throughout project phases.
Review vertical transportation report, design documents and specifications. Liaise with VT equipment suppliers, contractors, and project teams. Support project teams during design development, tender, construction, and handover stages. Assist in extracting quantities and generating reports from BIM models.
Support implementation of BIM workflows, automation, and digital engineering initiatives. Create and manage BIM families and parametric content for VT equipment. Contribute to model-based planning and project visualization.
Qualifications & Skills Advanced technical knowledge in BIM, especially Revit, ACC, Navisworks, Dynamo, Revizto and AutoCAD in Building Design domain.
