Job summary

GlobalData in Hyderabad is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to direct end-to-end data science and GenAI initiatives. You will architect production-grade ML/GenAI solutions, build data pipelines, train models, and implement robust MLOps while mentoring teammates and enforcing code quality standards.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data science/ML, including leading projects and delivering production solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with data visualization.
• GenAI/LLMs experience: prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, evaluation, safety/guardrails.
• Solid grasp of statistics, ML/DL algorithms, experimentation, and metric design.
• Demonstrated project/program management skills and stakeholder communication.

• Architect and build production-grade ML/GenAI solutions, including data pipelines, model training, evaluation, and MLOps.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior and senior team members; establish best practices and code quality standards.
• Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define roadmaps, scope work, and quantify impact.
• Communicate strategy, progress, and insights clearly to executives and cross functional teams.
• Support team and international colleagues on client-facing activities as needed.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors or master’s in computer science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in data science/ML, including leading projects and delivering production solutions.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; expertise with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn; experience with data visualization.
• Proven experience with GenAI/LLMs (prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, evaluation, and safety/guardrails).
• Solid grasp of statistics, ML/DL algorithms, experimentation (A/B testing), and metric design.
• Demonstrated project/program management skills and stakeholder communication.
