Job summary

Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc. is seeking a Lead Cost Engineer to drive cost optimization across global teams in Pune, India. You will mentor engineers, develop Should-Cost and TCO models, and lead supplier cost analyses to support negotiations and strategic sourcing.

You will review drawings and BOMs, identify cost drivers, and influence Make vs Buy and NPD decisions. This role demands strong analytical, leadership, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Cost Engineering, Manufacturing, or Engineering Operations.
• Strong costing and supplier cost analysis skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with Should-Cost Modeling, TCO preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of product costing, cost modeling, and supplier cost analysis.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Prior team leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Should-Cost Modeling, TCO analysis, and strategic sourcing.
• Strong financial and statistical analysis capabilities.
• 2+ years of people management experience preferred.
