Inviting applications for the role of Lead Consultant - MS SQL DBA.

Responsibilities:

  1. Refresh of DBs in all environments to support development/change activities (QA/UAT/TRN/PROD).
  2. Summarized Reports on Database growth and table space usage Periodic Object and Extent growth reports.
  3. Monitor objects reaching max extents; check database is up and running.
  4. Check Database services & its listener status.
  5. Check for locks on database.
  6. Monitoring the free space on table spaces which are reaching threshold value; Monitor file system usage and validating free space.
  7. Basic cleaning up of unwanted files in dump upon approval of relevant personnel.
  8. Monitor inactive database connections.
  9. Killing inactive database sessions based on agreed time of inactive sessions.
  10. Periodic backups of database and ensuring the validity of backups and recovery solutions.
  11. Backup management and scheduled backup weekly, monthly, and daily.
  12. Check database for runaway processes and remediation.
  13. Monitoring of all scheduled jobs, report failed jobs, remediation of failed jobs.
  14. Monitoring database processes and identify processes which are consuming CPU, virtual memory, disk I/O, other parameters that are higher than threshold values, providing monthly trend reports.
  15. Database performance trending and capacity planning.
  16. Database Patching and Upgrades.
  17. Patching of SQL Server environments.
  18. Supporting applications teams in maintenance/upgrade events in relation to DBA activities.
  19. Other Database activities.
  20. Creation of users, roles, privileges etc.
  21. Support for applications DBA activities.
  22. Planning & performing minor database upgrades, instance creation for trial upgrades.
  23. Project based activities related to major DB upgrades and infrastructure shifts or movements.
  24. Database Security reviews and action in relation to deficiencies whether system or user access related.
  25. Disaster Recovery.
  26. Monitoring, management, remediation, and improvement of disaster recovery components and processes relating to DB infrastructure.
  27. Assisting other IT Support and Project teams with DBA related needs.
  28. Identifying improvements in process and practices used inclusive of keeping documentation current.

Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree required. Preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:
• Good Communication skills.
