Principal Financial Group is seeking a Lead BI professional in Pune to advance our data-driven decision making. You will craft dashboards, data models, and end-to-end BI products while mentoring junior analysts and exploring Agentic AI and Gen BI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop substantial dashboards and data models from more intricate or untidy data, partnering with data producers when dealing with skewed, missing, or un-mastered data.
• Leverage sophisticated technical ability and proficiency in data handling to develop end-to-end BI products.
• Collaborate with peers and mentor junior analysts through pairing and peer reviews.
• Act as an early adopter of new and emerging BI technologies, leading the team into Agentic AI and Gen BI capabilities.
• Influence guidelines and standardization efforts, including automation, performance tuning, success metrics, BI templates, and considerations for upcoming improvements.
• Consult with business partners on objectives and priorities to drive benefit initiatives, leading to high collaborator engagement and happiness.

Who You Are

Must-have:

• 7-9 years of BI analytics and actionable insight generation, consulting, project management, or equivalent experience preferred.
• Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of business and BI strategies by owning BI products that align with business strategy.
• Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; spans teams as well as business & technology partners to promote a decision-centric approach.
• Sophisticated understanding of outcomes and efforts while influencing and prioritizing upcoming initiatives with commercial and technical collaborators.
• Expert proficiency in PowerBI platforms; intermediate familiarity with SQL.
• Proficient in the ETL process, sourcing various data types, and data management concepts for BI use, with the ability to build data pipelines and data models for reusable reports and dashboards.
• Academic background in Maths, Computers, or a Technology-adjacent stream.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience guiding junior colleagues and contributing to internal training resources.
• Basic familiarity with crafting the semantic layer using dbt model, GitHub.
• Exposure to Snowflake Cortex and its AI capabilities.
