Job summary

State Street is seeking a Lead QA Automation professional in Hyderabad to take ownership of test automation strategy and framework development across complex enterprise applications. You will be a hands-on contributor driving end-to-end quality across products, collaborating with stakeholders and cross-functional teams in an Agile setup.

The role requires 10-14 years in software QA with strong automation expertise in UI and API testing, plus proficiency in Java and modern automation stacks.

Qualifications

• 10-14 years of software QA experience with strong emphasis on test automation.
• Hands-on individual contributor (not a people-management role).
• Strong UI and API test automation experience with REST APIs.
• Knowledge of test frameworks such as TestNG, Cucumber, and BDD-style tools.
• Proficiency in Java (primary).
• Solid manual testing fundamentals and test design methodologies.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
• Ability to write SQL queries for validation and root-cause analysis.

• Interpret results, log defects and drive timely resolutions with developers.
• Write SQL queries to validate data and support root-cause analysis.
• Mentor junior QA engineers on test design, automation best practices, and Agile QA standards.

An experienced Lead who thrives as a hands‑on individual contributor, taking ownership of test automation strategy, framework development, and end‑to‑end quality assurance across complex enterprise applications.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, developers, and cross‑functional teams to ensure end‑to‑end quality ownership within Agile Scrum teams
• Design, develop, and scale automated test frameworks and regression suite to validate business requirements across products and services.
• Demonstrate strong programming expertise in Java (preferred), C#, or Python to build scalable and maintainable automation solutions.
• Build and integrate CI/CD pipelines to execute automated functional, integration, regression, and performance tests.
• Perform hands‑on front‑end automation testing using Selenium/Playwright, or equivalent industry‑standard tools.
• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test suites covering functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Interpret automation results, log defects, and proactively collaborate with developers to drive timely issue resolution.
• Write SQL queries independently to validate data correctness and support root‑cause analysis.
• Champion QA process improvements, researching and recommending modern automation strategies, including AI‑assisted testing.
• Mentor junior QA engineers on test design, automation best practices, and Agile quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• 10-14 years of experience in software QA with strong emphasis on test automation

• Strong manual testing fundamentals and test design methodologies
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution
• Ability to write SQL queries for validation and perform strong defect analysis

Nice To Have

• Exposure to load/performance testing concepts and tools
• Experience testing complex enterprise platforms (financial systems preferred)
• Experience with Jira and test management practices
