Overview Of The Lead Associate, Quality Assurance And Engineering

BETA is a self‑clearing securities processing platform that supports critical back office, middle office, and front office capabilities for wealth management firms. Built on years of expert knowledge and hands‑on experience, BETA provides critical back‑office controls including corporate action management, middle office exception management, and front office account management and trading tools for advisors.

We’re seeking a Lead Associate, Quality Assurance and Engineering to join one of our Scrum teams and help shape how quality and automation scale across customers‑facing financial platforms. This role goes beyond test execution; you’ll influence test strategy, automation standards, and quality gates, while owning the end‑to‑end quality of your team’s deliverables. You’ll partner closely with developers, product owners, and fellow QEs to ensure our solutions are reliable, maintainable, and ready to scale.

Reporting to the Manager, Technology Development, you’ll be embedded within a team, supporting data‑centric platforms and services built on Snowflake, focused on large‑scale data ingestion, transformation, and downstream integrations. As part of our global Quality Engineering organization, you’ll help expand and stabilize our automated testing capabilities while working in a hybrid model alongside teams based in Bangalore, India.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Lead Associate, Quality Assurance and Engineering

Quality & Test Strategy

• Own the overall quality of your team’s deliverables across functional, integration, and regression testing
• Review product requirements and design effective test plans, scenarios, and test cases with clear traceability
• Partner with stakeholders to define testing scope, inputs/outputs, and quality expectations
• Apply risk‑based thinking to prioritize high‑value test coverage and release confidence

Focused Testing

• Design and execute data quality tests across Snowflake and data warehouses/data lakes.
• Hands‑on dealing with complex SQL queries to validate data completeness, consistency and business rule enforcement.
• Test ETL/ELT pipelines that load data into Snowflake (batch and/or near‑real‑time). Validate incremental vs full loads, late‑arriving data handling, schema changes and backward compatibility.
• Validate API responses against data persisted in both on‑prem and Snowflake.
• Build and maintain automated test suites for REST API testing and validation against non‑snowflake data sources.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) to provide fast, actionable feedback.
• Execute and support testing activities including functional, integration, regression, and UAT support.

Continuous Improvement

• Troubleshoot failures end‑to‑end across automation code, environments, test data, and application defects.
• Passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, and participating in technology communities.

Skills and Experience of the Lead Associate, Quality Assurance and Engineering

• 5+ years of experience testing complex web‑based applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies including functional, regression, negative, integration, and system testing.
• Strong SQL expertise (advanced joins, window functions, aggregations).
• Hands‑on experience testing Snowflake (or similar cloud data warehouses). Experience testing data warehouses and/or data lakes.
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines.
• Experience testing APIs using industry standard tools (e.g., Postman, ReadyAPI, or REST APIs).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) used for data processing. Experience validating large datasets and high‑volume data loads.
• Solid fundamentals in debugging, triage, and root cause analysis, including pipeline failures.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within Agile/Scrum environments.

Nice to Have

• Software testing certification.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts (fact/dimension tables, star schemas).
• Experience across multiple automation stacks or languages.
• Exposure to AI‑assisted testing or automation acceleration (e.g., improving test design, maintenance, or failure triage using AI)
• Prior experience in financial services / data‑heavy domains.
