Job summary

DTCC in Hyderabad seeks a seasoned software applications professional to design, deploy, and support internal and external software solutions. You will collaborate with business partners and engineers to implement reliable solutions and maintain operations.

The role emphasizes incident response, disaster recovery, automation, and knowledge-base updates in a hybrid work environment with 3 days onsite and 2 remote. 5+ years in production support preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of related experience in production support.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Verify analysis and implement changes to prevent incidents.
• Resolve critical application alerts including production defects with business impact.
• Review and update knowledge articles and runbooks with development teams.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide answers to issues and elevation when needed.
• Validate and respond to audit information requests.
• Review and execute disaster recovery scripts during outages with BCM evidence.
• Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual monitoring effort.
• Partner with development teams on design and development input.
• Execute deployment plans and end-to-end vendor upgrade processes.
• Align risk and control processes with day-to-day responsibilities.

The Impact You Will Have In This Role

The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Application Support Engineering role specializes in maintaining and providing technical support for all applications that are beyond the development stage and are running in the daily operations of the firm. Works closely with development teams, infrastructure partners, and internal / external clients to elevate and resolve technical support incidents.

Your Primary Responsibilities

• Verify analysis performed by team members and implement changes required to prevent reoccurance of incidents
• Resolve Critical application alerts in a timely fashion including production defects, providing business impact and analysis to teams, handling minor enhancements as needed
• Review and update knowledge articles and runbooks with application development teams to confirm information is up to date
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide answers to application issues and elevate to as needed
• Validate and submit responses to requests for information from onging audits
• Review and Execute Disaster Recovery scripts during planned and unplanned outages, providing BCM evidence as needed
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to reduce manual effort associated with application monitoring
• Partner with development teams to provide input into the design and development stages of applications
• Execute the pre-production/production application code deployment plans and end to end vendor application upgrade process (e.g. SNOW, SF, etc)
• Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed For Success

• Minimum 5 years of experience in application production support and team management
• Knowledge of system administration – system configuration management, resource sharing, operating system fundamentals
• Knowledge on application support – basic programming skills, log reading and analysis
• Experience in multiple platforms (Operating systems – UNIX, Linux, Windows, VMWare)
• Understanding of different technologies and applications:
• Networking and Storage technologies – TCP/IP, EMC, NetApp, HP, Cisco
• Database – Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL, DB2, Greenplum, Snowflake
• Middleware technologies – WebSphere Application Server, WebSphere MQ, Java, JRE, Nutanix.
• Knowledge on Mainframe Platform and should be familiar with Cobol, JCL, DB2, CICS
• Should have knowledge on MQ tool, Fileaid for DB2, SPUFI, CA View, Service now
• Clustering technologies – Veritas, Red Hat, and VMWare vSphere
• Cloud Computing – AWS, CloudWatch, Cloud Formation, Azure
• Programming and scripting – ability to establish automation, write scripts (Perl, Python, Chef, Puppet) or implement system solutions
• General knowledge of industry principles and new technologies like cloud computing, virtualization, etc.
