Job summary

Crisil is seeking a senior valuation professional to lead the day-to-day management of the valuation team, oversee onboarding of new portfolio investments, and drive valuation methodologies and model frameworks. You will supervise monthly and quarterly valuations of private equity assets, review analyses, and present findings to internal committees and external auditors.

The role requires strong mentoring skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a track record of delivering valuation insights

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in valuation, transaction advisory, investment management, or private equity.
• Experience valuing private investments and illiquid assets across structures.
• Experience reviewing valuation models and challenging analyses.
• Experience leading valuation cycles for investment portfolios.
• Experience supporting audits and resolving valuation audit queries.
• Strong verbal and written communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics; CA or CFA preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

• Lead the day-to-day management of the valuation team, overseeing deliverable planning, progress tracking, quality reviews of valuation models, reporting templates, stakeholder communications, and execution of ad hoc valuation-related projects
• Drive the onboarding of new portfolio investments, establishing valuation methodologies, model frameworks, selecting comparables etc.
• Oversee comprehensive monthly and quarterly valuation assessments of private equity investments, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and valuation policies
• Review valuation analyses, while providing guidance to team members on technical valuation matters
• Lead the preparation and presentation of valuation results and supporting analyses for internal valuation committees, senior management and external auditors
• Manage the audit review process, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors / independent valuation service providers and ensuring timely resolution of valuation-related queries and documentation requests
• Mentor, coach and develop analysts through ongoing training, technical guidance and performance feedback
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Investment teams, finance teams, auditors / independent valuation service providers and other key stakeholders
• Drive continuous enhancement of valuation processes, workflows and technology solutions

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in valuation, transaction advisory, investment management, or private equity
• Proven experience valuing private investments and illiquid assets across investment structures
• Significant experience reviewing and challenging valuation models prepared by team members or investment team
• Experience managing monthly or quarterly valuation cycles for investment portfolio
• Experience leading valuation support for audits and resolving complex valuation-related audit queries
• Track record of managing multiple deliverables and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience overseeing, mentoring and developing valuation analysts
• Familiarity with valuation and data management platforms such as iLEVEL and 73 Strings a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present findings with rationale to diverse stakeholders
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting , Economics or a related discipline or Chartered Accountant
• CFA charterholder or candidate status preferred, but not required
