Lead Analyst – Operations Finance

Summary
In the Global Finance Shared Services (GSS–MBS) team in India, the Lead Analyst will partner with Business Finance leaders and collaborate with Operations Finance and SCM Finance teams to provide operations finance analytics and decision support across segments and plants. The role will generate insights on manufacturing cost, conversion cost, variances, inventory, OOS, and operational performance to strengthen understanding of the operations component of P&L. It will provide actual costing and cost flow analytics, bridging hybrid costing, standard costing, and traditional P&L views to support business discussions and operational decision‑making. The position will also contribute to reporting standardisation, process transformation, and scalable analytics capabilities through the MBS operating model.
Responsibilities
- Translate Business Finance priorities into operational analytics and plant‑level interpretation, helping connect financial outcomes with manufacturing and supply‑chain drivers.
- Enable visibility on conversion cost opportunities, cost benchmarking, and cost standardisation practices across sites.
- Generate operations finance insights across regions/plants through structured analysis of manufacturing costs, conversion cost, manufacturing variances, OOS trends, and operational performance drivers.
- Partner with Business Finance and Operations Finance leaders by delivering fact‑based cost and operational insights to strengthen business decision‑making.
- Collaborate with SCM Finance to provide analytics on material cost, inventory, logistics cost, and supply‑chain performance drivers.
- Provide actual costing and cost‑flow analytics, creating a bridge between hybrid costing approaches, standard costing structures, and traditional P&L views to improve understanding of operational financial outcomes.
- Deliver Budget vs Actual vs Forecast operational cost analytics and generate insights to support discussions related to material pricing and conversion economics.
- Contribute to MERP/ERP transformation initiatives and reporting/dashboard enhancements, ensuring alignment between Business Finance, Operations Finance, and MBS operating requirements.
- Handle ad‑hoc analytical requests from stakeholders and management to ensure timely insights and business continuity.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP / IFRS accounting standards and internal Momentive financial policies through consistent financial analysis and reporting standards.

Minimum Qualifications
- CMA / MBA degree required in finance, accounting, business, or related field.
- Strong financial planning & analysis skill set based on experience in a finance role in the manufacturing industry.
- 10 years of industry finance experience, including 5‑7 years of progressive Plant Finance Controlling experience.
- ERP knowledge and experience (SAP knowledge is a plus).
- Experience working in a global environment.
- Good interpersonal & English communication skills (mandate).
- Pro‑active attitude, pragmatic, multitask handling and team player.
- Organisational and flexible skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau and MS PowerPoint experience.
- Exposure in global shared‑services set‑up is a plus.
