Job summary

QIMA is seeking a textile testing professional in Tamil Nadu to implement ISO/IEC 17025, perform tests per standard methods, and troubleshoot testing issues under supervision. The role involves maintaining testing operations, developing capabilities, and ensuring timely sample processing in a dynamic lab environment.

Candidates should have a science/engineering background with 2–3 years of textile lab experience, strong communication, and computer skills, with fluent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, or Diploma in Textiles.
• Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements; Textile Testing training preferred.
• 2–3 years in a textile testing laboratory; Audit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implement the management system and ISO/IEC 17025.
• Carry out tests according to international standards/client method.
• Troubleshoot problems during testing with supervisor.
• Involve in testing capability development under supervision of senior staff.
• Maintain the operation of each testing team.
• Complete PT/ILC samples on time without outliers.
• Complete regular samples testing on time and maintain the TAT.
• Assist in selection and acceptance of new instruments and consumables.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate/verify, and quality-check equipment in textile lab.
• Finish other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Job Description

• Troubleshoot problems that arise during testing, seeking help from the manager if necessary;
• Involve in testing capability development under supervision of senior staff;
• Maintain the operation of each testing team;
• Complete the PT/ILC samples on time without any outliers
• Complete the regular samples testing on time and maintain the TAT
• Involved in the selection and acceptance of new instruments and equipment, as well
• organize/conduct the acceptance of consumables;
• Involved in operation, maintenance, calibration / verification, performance check, and/or intermediate check of equipment in textile testing lab;
• Finish other tasks assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering, or Diploma in Textiles.
• Training: Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements; Textile Testing training preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiar with textile standards; able to conduct tests for Colour Fastness, Flammability, Fiber Content, and selected tests in the Physical Department.
• Experience: 2–3 years in a textile testing laboratory; experience with Accreditation Body Audits is an advantage.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, accurate typing, and general computer proficiency.
• Language: Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Other Attributes: Strong technical knowledge, analytical mindset, and logical thinking.
