The L3 Network Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining our network infrastructure for VPN and Business Partner Access. This includes overseeing VPN gateways, firewalls, load balancers, site‑to‑site tunnels, maintenance of request portal, monitoring, backup and restore processes. The role also involves performing hardware patching, configuring network infrastructure, handling third‑level IT tickets, and coordinating with external partners. You will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment oriented toward DevOps and agile working.
In detail your tasks include:Driving escalation and problem management processes, coordinating complex incident and problem resolution with internal IT teams and external service providers, providing expert resolution and support. Preparing changes to the environment and maintaining detailed documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures. Steering and coordinating with external partners to ensure seamless integration and support of network services.
Assisting customers with process improvements, documentation, training and usability efforts.
Oversee and manage VPN gateways, firewalls, maintenance of request portal and site‑to‑site tunnels. Conduct hardware patching and configuration of complex network infrastructure to maintain optimal performance and security.
Ensure and perform regular monitoring, backup and restore operations to ensure network stability and data integrity.
Maintain detailed documentation of the Access services, including processes, procedures, and user guides.
Perform feasibility studies and IT concepts, market research and vendor evaluations.
Education in IT and network areas.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in network engineering or a related role, with a focus on VPN gateways, firewalls and load balancers, and complex network infrastructures.
Skills:
Experience in managing external service providers and a very good understanding of IT compliance and data‑security topics.
Knowledge in agile frameworks, ITSM processes and DevOps (automation, infrastructure/configuration as code) is a plus.
