Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and approve Site for Warehouse Setup and layout of Project Warehouses.
- Review and approve the budget in conjunction with Segment Heads – Operations for land development works and for setting up of temporary structures for office and indoor stores.
- Ensure efficient space utilization in each project warehouse.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security across all project warehouses.
- Implement best practices and systems to maximize warehouse efficiency, including inventory management, stock control, and reporting.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded in ERP systems and reconciliation of stock with ERP data storage system.
- Prepare Annual Budget.
- Liaise with suppliers and transport/logistics companies.
- Closely work with Accounting, Purchase, EHS & Planning departments.
- Work in conjunction with Digital, ISD and Systems departments to identify and communicate changes associated with software enhancements or new version implementation.
- Orient and Coach employees related to Warehouse functions. Ensure they are trained and motivated to deliver high-quality work.
- Develop reports and statistics regularly (Inventory levels, Stock usage, Status reports, slow moving / dead stock details, running costs etc.).
- Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
- Sharing good housekeeping practices and nurturing new ideas among the store-In charges of various Project sites.
- Work towards connected stores for efficient inventory management of common items like cement, rebar, Safety items, tools & tackles, spares etc.
- Control on Scrap / Waste generation. Periodic assessment on accumulation and disposal of Scrap and initiate actions on time.
- Review of Physical verification reports from Store In Charges on continuous basis.
- Set up the Standard Operating Procedures for Kitting and dispatch of items wherever applicable.
Desired Experience
- 15+ years of experience in warehouse management in an EPC organization or a similar industry.
- Proven work experience as a Warehouse Manager including track record of managing and developing a warehouse team.
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
Knowledge
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including procurement and inventory management procedures.
- Knowledge on ERP and Warehouse Management.
- Should be able to locate and finalise land parcel to set up stores.
- Should be able to quickly arrange store start up kit.
- Should be able to finalise store infrastructure, fencing, security etc. as per standard operating procedures.
- Know-how to utilize all the various tools at their disposal in order to run operations as efficiently as possible.
- Safety-Mindedness: Warehouse safety needs to be number-one priority.
- Expertise in understanding the construction schedules and derive material take out plan for effective planning of inter-carting and logistics. Ability to train Store In-charges on the same.
- Knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations.
