Bounteous is seeking a seasoned Kafka migration specialist to assess on‑prem environments and lead AWS MSK migration readiness in Hyderabad. You will design migration paths, map topics, and validate cutovers to ensure smooth transitions.

Work involves optimizing MSK performance, collaborating with application, infrastructure, and platform teams, and building automation frameworks for large-scale modernization initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and AWS MSK.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka migration tools and cloud migration concepts.
• Automation scripting for platform engineering (Python/Java/Shell).

Job description

Role & Responsibilities

• Assess and analyze on-prem Kafka environments for AWS MSK migration readiness.
• Execute Kafka-to-MSK migrations, including topic mapping, replication, testing, cutover, and validation.
• Configure, monitor, and optimize AWS MSK clusters for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and platform teams to drive migration activities and release readiness.
• Develop automation solutions and migration frameworks to support large-scale Kafka modernization initiatives.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and AWS MSK.
• Strong expertise in Kafka migration tools such as MirrorMaker 2 or Confluent Replicator.
• Experience with AWS services (MSK, EKS, ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch) and cloud migration projects.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Shell scripting for automation and platform engineering.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, CI/CD, monitoring tools (Prometheus/Grafana/Splunk), networking, and Kafka security concepts.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
