The Junior Technical Officer – Nuclear Medicine supports nuclear-medicine imaging services by preparing patients, assisting with radiopharmaceutical handling under authorized supervision, operating imaging equipment, maintaining technical records, and following radiation-safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare patients for nuclear-medicine examinations.
• Verify patient identity, examination requests, and relevant clinical information.
• Assist with preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals within authorized scope and supervision.
• Operate gamma cameras, SPECT/SPECT-CT, PET/CT, or other assigned nuclear-medicine equipment.
• Position patients correctly for imaging.
• Acquire high-quality images according to approved protocols.
• Monitor patients during procedures and report abnormalities.
• Follow radiation-protection and radioactive-material handling procedures.
• Maintain records of radiopharmaceutical administration and imaging studies.
• Monitor storage, preparation, and disposal procedures for radioactive materials.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report technical problems.
• Maintain procedure logs and electronic records.
• Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and radiation-safety standards.
• Coordinate with nuclear-medicine physicians, medical physicists, nurses, and other technical staff.
• Maintain adequate technical consumables and report shortages.
• Participate in quality-control checks, audits, training, and accreditation activities.
