Job summary

MulticoreWare is seeking a Junior LLVM Backend Engineer to join its compiler engineering team. You will work on backend components for custom hardware architectures and collaborate with engineers to improve code generation and optimizations.

The role focuses on LLVM IR transformations, instruction selection, and backend improvements to deliver high-performance code. Candidates should have a strong C/C++ foundation and a passion for low-level systems programming.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electronics.
• Strong foundation in compiler design fundamentals.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++.
• Basic understanding of LLVM architecture and compiler pipelines.
• Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and OS concepts.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Willingness to learn and work on low-level compiler tech.
• Nice to have: assembly language or computer architecture exposure.
• Nice to have: Linux development environments and build systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining LLVM backend components for custom or existing target architectures.
• Support implementation and enhancement of instruction selection, code generation, and target-specific optimizations.
• Work on LLVM IR-level transformations and optimization passes under guidance from senior engineers.
• Analyze generated assembly/code to identify performance improvements and optimization opportunities.
• Debug compiler-related issues across different stages of the compilation flow.
• Collaborate with hardware and software teams to understand architecture-specific requirements.
• Contribute to testing, validation, and benchmarking of compiler features and optimizations.
• Learn and contribute to LLVM-based development workflows and internal compiler infrastructure.

Job Description

We are lookingfor a Junior LLVM Backend Engineer to join our compiler engineering team. Inthis role, you will work on backend components of the compiler toolchaintargeting custom hardware architectures. You will have the opportunity to workclosely with experienced compiler engineers on LLVM IR transformations,instruction selection, and backend optimizations to improve generated codequality and performance.
