Job summary

Divaiz Studio in Mumbai seeks a Junior Interior Designer to support the design team in creating customized interior solutions for residential and commercial spaces. You will assist with concept development, preparation of design presentations, and space-planning layouts, coordinating FF&E selections under senior designers’ guidance.

You will also create and update construction drawings, collaborate with vendors and contractors, and participate in site visits and measurements to ensure design

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Interior Design and Architecture concepts, translating ideas into practical solutions.
• Proficiency in space planning for residential and commercial interiors.
• Ability to prepare and interpret construction drawings with elevations and sections.
• Knowledge of FF&E selection, sourcing, and coordination with design intent and budget.
• Academic background in Interior Design or Architecture.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit or similar; design/drafting software preferred.
• Attention to detail, time management and on-site collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Role Description:

The Junior Interior Designer will support the design team in developing customized interior solutions for residential and commercial spaces. Responsibilities include assisting with concept development, preparing design presentations, contributing to space-planning layouts, and coordinating FF&E selections under senior designers' guidance. The role involves creating and updating construction drawings, collaborating with vendors and contractors, and participating in site visits and measurements to ensure design intent is met. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, requiring regular in-person collaboration and coordination.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Interior Design and Architecture concepts, with the ability to translate design ideas into practical solutions.
• Proficiency in Space Planning, including layout optimization and circulation planning for residential and commercial interiors.
• Ability to prepare and interpret Construction Drawings, including detailed plans, elevations, and sections.
• Knowledge of FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) selection, sourcing, and coordination aligned with design intent and budget.
• Relevant academic background in Interior Design or Architecture
• Familiarity with industry-standard design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively on-site with a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic understanding of materials, finishes, and construction processes; prior internship or project experience is an advantage.
