Job summary

ReNew is hiring a Junior Engineer - Wind O&M in Jath, Maharashtra. The role focuses on safe maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs), performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and supporting corrective actions under seniors. Requires 2–3 years of experience and electrical engineering qualification.

Candidates should be willing to travel to remote wind farm locations, read technical drawings, and follow SOPs. GWO/First Aid training is preferred. Immediate joiners considered.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of wind O&M experience.
  • Diploma/ B.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
  • Willingness to travel to remote wind farm sites.
  • GWO Basic Safety Training preferred.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on WTGs as per OEM and company guidelines.
  • Inspect, repair, or replace mechanical components including gearboxes, yaw systems, pitch mechanisms, couplings, and fasteners.
  • Assist in alignment, torquing, lubrication, greasing, and structural inspection of mechanical assemblies.
  • Comply with all site EHS protocols including LOTO and Work at Height.
  • Record maintenance actions and update SAP/CMMS work orders.

General Job Description

The Junior Engineer plays a critical role in the efficient and safe maintenance of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs) at the site. This role involves performing scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), troubleshooting mechanical issues, and supporting corrective actions under the guidance of senior team members. The engineer ensures compliance with global safety standards and contributes toward improving turbine availability, reliability, and performance.


Specific Responsibilities


  • Execute scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on WTGs as per OEM and company guidelines.

  • Inspect, repair, or replace mechanical components including gearboxes, yaw systems, pitch mechanisms, couplings, and fasteners.

  • Assist in alignment, torquing, lubrication, greasing, and structural inspection of mechanical assemblies.

  • Comply strictly with all site‑specific Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) protocols including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), Work at Height, and Confined Space Entry.

  • Participate in daily tool‑box talks and job safety assessments before each activity.

  • Report unsafe acts, near‑miss events, and support continuous improvement of the site safety culture.

  • Complete maintenance reports, work permits, defect identification forms, and checklists accurately and on time.

  • Use SAP or other CMMS tools to enter work order updates and inventory usage.

  • Submit daily activity logs and progress reports to supervisors.

  • Provide technical support during high wind or emergency situations as required.

  • Support operational team in turbine start‑stop operations and remote resets as guided.

  • Participate in WTG health audits and site walkdowns; help identify abnormalities or risks.

  • Ensure proper care, usage, and return of tools and personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Raise requisitions for unplanned or pending work materials via SCM process.

  • Proactively verify the availability of PM spares and consumables.

  • Support 5S implementation and upkeep of work areas and containers.

  • Participate in Kaizen and lean activities to improve maintenance efficiency.

  • Learn from internal audits, quality inspections, and engineering reviews.

  • MA (Machine Availability) & LPF (Lost Production Factor) within Targets

Desired Skills & Competencies


  • Basic knowledge of rotating mechanical equipment and hydraulics.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals.

  • Hands‑on familiarity with Torquing, lifting tools, greasing pumps, and alignment tools.

  • Team player with the ability to follow standard operating procedures.

  • Physically fit to climb wind turbines (up to 100 meters) and work in challenging outdoor conditions.

  • Willingness to travel and relocate to remote wind farm locations.

  • Certifications (Preferred but not Mandatory):

  • GWO (Global Wind Organization) Basic Safety Training

  • First Aid & Fire Safety and Work at Height Training
