Job Description Summary

Junior Engineer NDT Level 2 will be responsible for executing and inspecting aerospace hardware in NDT operations in FCOE.

Site Overview:

Our Multi-modal Manufacturing Facility (MMF) in Pune plays a crucial role in manufacturing key aerospace components, supporting India’s defence and commercial sectors as well as global aviation supply chains. Our relationships with Indian suppliers, combined with our world-class local facilities and global reach, continue to shape India’s aerospace ecosystem.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • NDT Level 2 per NAS 410 in FPI, with 400 OJT hours completed per NAS 410.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, and quality teams to develop and implement AS 9100 procedures and support production quality flow downs.
  • Get qualified to cross-functional quality cells and work with HPT teams for yield analysis, EHS, and process improvement projects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through audits, non-conformance assessments, and corrective actions via Root Cause Analysis.
  • Understand site quality QMS procedures and policies.
  • Utilize process and yield improvement tools like RCA, Kaizens, and 7 QC tools.
  • Inspect production hardware, analyze customer complaints, and verify stock as required.
  • Provide technical analysis and evaluation for inspection processes.
  • Train and support shop operations, design, and manufacturing to ensure quality assurance.
  • Stay updated on the latest inspection techniques and processes for optimal application.

The Ideal Candidate:

2 years of experience in FPI NDT process in aviation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering.
  • At least 1.5 years of experience in aviation NDT, specifically in Penetrant testing and product acceptance.
  • Working knowledge of AS 9100 standards.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, drawings, and specifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of aerospace NDT standards, ASTM standards, and NAS 410 qualification requirements.
