Job summary

Iitm Pravartak is seeking a Junior Cyber Forensic Analyst to assist in collecting, imaging, and preserving digital evidence across devices and cloud platforms. The role includes forensic analysis, OSINT investigations, and crypto wallet tracing while employing a range of industry tools.

You will also train law enforcement personnel in digital forensics and stay updated on evolving methodologies and legal considerations. This is a full-time position based in India.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cyber Forensics or Digital Forensic Science.
• Certifications CHFI or CEH may be required.
• 1–2 years of professional experience in digital forensics or related field.
• Experience with forensic software tools (EnCase, FTK, Magnet AXIOM, Cellebrite, Oxygen forensics, or Autopsy).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the collection, imaging, and preservation of digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, storage media, and cloud platforms; maintain chain of custody documentation.
• Perform thorough forensic analysis of digital data, including recovering deleted files, analyzing logs, OSINT investigations, and tracing crypto wallets; use tools to identify relevant evidence.
• Train law enforcement personnel on the basics of digital forensics and stay current with evolving methodologies and technologies.

Job Description: Junior Cyber Forensic Analyst

Position Overview

This role requires advanced knowledge of digital forensics tools, investigative techniques, legal frameworks, and current cyber threats, as well as the ability to collaborate with law enforcement officers. The candidate will work under the guidance of senior forensic consultants

Key Responsibilities

• Digital Evidence Collection & Preservation:

Assist in the collection, imaging, and preservation of digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, storage media, and cloud platforms. Maintain proper chain of custody documentation.

• Forensic Analysis & Investigations:

Perform thorough forensic analysis of digital data, including recovering deleted files, analyzing log files, OSINT investigations and tracing crypto wallets Utilize various forensic tools and methodologies to identify relevant evidence.

• Training & Development:

Train law enforcement personnel on the basics of digital forensics. Stay current with evolving digital forensics methodologies, legal considerations, and emerging technologies.

Key Qualifications

• Education:

1. Bachelors degree in Cyber Forensics or Digital Forensic Science.

2. May require certifications: Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).

• Experience:

1. Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience in digital forensics, cybercrime investigations, or a related field.

2. Proven experience with forensic software tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, Oxygen forensics, or open-source tools like Autopsy).

3. Experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting digital evidence in law enforcement or legal contexts.

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of operating systems in both mobile and computers and should have a knowledge about file systems (NTFS, FAT, HFS+, etc.).
• Knowledge of forensic imaging and hash verification.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive or classified information.
• Ability to recover and analyze data from devices.
• Ability to do report writing for the case.

Communication Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including legal professionals.
• Attention to detail and documentation accuracy

Working Conditions

• Full-time position; may require occasional overtime, weekend, or after- hours work for urgent cases or incident responses.
• Position may involve travel to crime scenes or other locations as required for evidence collection.
