  • Training & Development: train law enforcement personnel on basics of digital forensics and stay updated with evolving methodologies.

Job Description: Cyber Forensic Analyst

Position Overview

This role requires advanced knowledge of digital forensics tools, investigative techniques, legal frameworks, and current cyber threats, as well as the ability to collaborate with law enforcement officers.

Key Responsibilities
Digital Evidence Collection & Preservation

Conduct forensic analysis of digital devices (computers, smartphones, servers, cloud storage, etc.) to identify, collect, and preserve evidence in accordance with established protocols to ensure integrity and admissibility in court.

Forensic Analysis & Investigations

Perform thorough forensic analysis of digital data, including recovering deleted files, analyzing log files, OSINT investigations and tracing crypto wallets. Utilize various forensic tools and methodologies to identify relevant evidence.

Training & Development

Train law enforcement personnel on the basics of digital forensics. Stay current with evolving digital forensics methodologies, legal considerations, and emerging technologies.

Key Qualifications
Education
  1. Masters degree in Cyber Forensics or Digital Forensic Science.
  2. May require certifications: Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
Experience
  1. Minimum of 3-4 years of professional experience in digital forensics, cybercrime investigations, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience with forensic software tools (e.g., EnCase, FTK, Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, Oxygen forensics, or open-source tools like Autopsy).
  3. Experience in collecting, analyzing, and presenting digital evidence in law enforcement or legal contexts
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems in both mobile and computers and should have a knowledge about file systems (NTFS, FAT, HFS+, etc.).
  • Ability to perform OSINT investigation and should have a knowledge about cryptocurrencies.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion in handling sensitive or classified information.
  • Ability to recover and analyze data from devices.
  • Ability to do report writing for the case.
Communication Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including legal professionals.
Desired Attributes
  • Knowledge of current trends and emerging threats in cybersecurity and cybercrime.
Working Conditions
  • Full-time position; may require occasional overtime, weekend, or after-hours work for urgent cases or incident responses.
  • Position may involve travel to crime scenes or other locations as required for evidence collection.
