Overview
We are seeking a Junior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to implement and support our community-driven OpenStack-based private cloud infrastructure. You will be directly responsible for ensuring the scalability, resilience, automation, and performance optimization of our cloud environment by leveraging Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Ansible, and Terraform.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and support of multi-tenant OpenStack infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters across multi-region environments.
- Support the provisioning and configuration of Ubuntu KVM, Cisco UCS servers, Pure Storage, and Ceph under guidance from senior engineers.
- Contribute to automation tasks using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi for infrastructure setup and lifecycle management.
- Help maintain and improve infrastructure delivery pipelines, including updates, patching, and rollback procedures.
- Monitor and support observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, etc.) to detect and report incidents.
- Participate in activities to strengthen high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery of services.
- Assist in troubleshooting infrastructure issues, escalating complex problems to senior team members.
- Join the on-call rotation and contribute to incident response and post-mortem analysis under mentorship.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience operating and automating large-scale OpenStack cloud environments with Ubuntu KVM hypervisors and Kubernetes
- Good knowledge in Infrastructure-as-Code with Ansible, Terraform, or Pulumi.
- Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) skills and ability to write scripts in Python, Bash, or Go.
- Understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
- Basic knowledge of hypervisors (KVM, vSphere), software-defined storage protocols (iSCSI, NFS, Ceph), and L2/L3 networking
- Exposure to multi-region or high-availability OpenStack clusters is a plus.
Nice to have
- Good knowledge of Cisco UCS Blade Servers (or similar server infrastructure), Block/File Storage (Software-defined storage preferred).
- Background in telco, edge cloud, or large enterprise infrastructure environments.
