Job summary

MitKat Advisory is seeking a Junior Analyst – Investigations & Insider Threat to monitor global security events and assess threats to people, facilities, products, and operations. You will provide timely updates and escalations to GSOC, investigations, and incident response teams.

You will collaborate with Legal, Compliance, HR, Integrity Office and security teams, perform OSINT research, contribute to risk assessments, and deliver training.

About the Role

MitKat Advisory is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Analyst willing to work night shifts to monitor global security events and intelligence, assess potential threats to the client’s people, facilities, products, and operations, and provide timely updates and escalations. The role will support the client’s GSOC operations, incident response, crisis management, reporting, investigations, and coordination with internal stakeholders and regional security teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the head of global investigations and training with internal investigations relating to fraud, misconduct, policy breaches, bribery and corruption and insider threat matters.
• Collect, collate, and analyse data from multiple internal sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies relevant to all investigations.
• Triage and escalation of alerts generated by technology-driven monitoring systems in relation to fraud and insider risk.
• Prepare clear, accurate, and concise investigative reports, summaries, and briefing documents.
• Support the maintenance and development of the Insider Threat Program, including contributing to risk assessments and process improvements.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders across Legal, Compliance, HR/Employee Relations, Integrity Office, and other security functions to support investigations and share relevant intelligence.
• Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) research and background checks as required to support investigative activities.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of fraud and insider threat awareness training and communications across the organisation.
• Maintain current awareness of emerging fraud and insider threat trends, evolving methodologies, and industry best practices within the financial services sector.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case management records in accordance with established procedures and governance requirements.
• Provide support for ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by senior members of the Investigations & Insider Threat team.

Position Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in investigations, open-source intelligence, security studies, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years’ experience in investigations, intelligence, risk, compliance, Security Operations Centre or a related field, preferably within financial services, law enforcement, or the public/private security sector.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesise information from multiple sources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
• Strong understanding of the intersection between geopolitics, economics, public policy, and business strategy.
• Familiarity with data analytics and visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, i2 Analyst Notebook, Splunk) and with a Security Information and Event Management platform.
• Understanding of, or interest in, fraud, insider threat, cyber security, or corporate security matters.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• High degree of discretion, integrity, and professionalism, particularly when handling sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build productive working relationships across teams and at all levels.
• A proactive, inquisitive mindset with a genuine interest in investigations and insider threat.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small, specialist team.
