Job summary

Kwalee in Bangalore is seeking a Senior 2D Artist and Animator to lead the creation of high-quality animated ad creatives for our mobile games. • Advanced proficiency in Toon Boom; Spine knowledge is a plus.
• Strong animation fundamentals and storytelling for mobile ads.
• Excellent 2D drawing and composition for ad creatives.
• Experience with AI tools to enhance efficiency.
• Based in Bangalore with on-site work 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and production of animated ad creatives using Toon Boom (proficiency in Spine is an advantage).
• Translate creative briefs and campaign goals into compelling 2D animation concepts.
• Collaborate with User Acquisition, Motion Design, and Creative Strategy teams to align storytelling with performance objectives.
• Review ad performance data (CTR, CPI, IPM) and contribute to creative iteration planning.
• Develop multiple variations and A/B test creatives to maintain engagement and performance.
• Research competitor animations, market trends, and storytelling formats to drive innovation.
• Apply principles of timing, spacing, composition, and cinematography for impactful visuals.
• Integrate AI-powered tools and automation workflows to optimise quality and speed.
• Mentor junior and mid-level animators through feedback, reviews, and guidance.
• Maintain organised archives of project files, reusable assets, and references.
• Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining consistency and production efficiency.

As a Senior 2D Artist and Animator, you will lead the creation of high-quality, performance-driven 2D animated ad creatives for our mobile games. You’ll combine strong animation fundamentals with performance marketing insights to deliver engaging content, guide animation workflows from concept to delivery, and mentor other team members while leveraging AI tools to enhance creative efficiency.

Requirements:

• Advanced proficiency in Toon Boom; experience with Spine or equivalent 2D animation tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, marketing sensibilities, and ad production workflows.
• Excellent 2D animation, drawing, and storytelling skills.
• Strong grasp of composition, pacing, and visual timing for mobile ad content.
• Familiarity with AI tools to streamline animation processes.
• Experience in mobile game marketing and performance-based creative production.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Based in our Bangalore office with 5 days per week on site.
