Job summary

Futuresafe Technologies, under a long-term agreement with SiteRecon Inc., seeks Jr. Cartographer (GIS) for night shift. Training will be provided for freshers ready to join immediately. Roles include map creation, digitization, and data management with a strong emphasis on accuracy.

Candidates should have 0–1 year GIS experience, graduation in geo-informatics, and familiarity with QGIS/ArcGIS. Night shifts and onsite work in India are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduation in geo-informatics or GIS-related field.
• Basic experience in GIS mapping and digitization with ArcGIS/QGIS.
• Familiarity with GIS data formats and coordinate systems.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and update digital maps and spatial data using QGIS.
• Digitize geographic features from imagery and other sources.
• Ensure accuracy and high-quality cartographic outputs.
• Collaborate to integrate geospatial data for projects and reports.
• Convert paper maps to digital formats and maintain geodatabases.
• Troubleshoot GIS issues to keep workflow smooth.
• Stay updated with GIS tech and apply improvements.
• Adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

We are looking for individuals who have done graduation in Geo informatics Science, and also have an experience of about 0 to 1 year of experience with expertise in GIS software i.e. QGIS/ArcGIS to fill the position at Futuresafe Technologies. Exposure to IT/Software start-ups /industries will be an added advantage

• Create, edit, and update digital maps and spatial data using QGIS.
• Perform digitization of geographic features from satellite imagery, aerial photography, and other data sources.
• Ensure accuracy and precision in map creation, maintaining high-quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members to integrate geospatial data for various projects and reports.
• Perform data conversion and analysis, transforming paper maps into digital formats.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize geodatabases for efficient data management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve GIS-related issues, ensuring smooth workflow.
• Stay updated with advancements in GIS technologies and incorporate them into the work process.
• Flexibility to adapt and manage within a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
• History of teamwork and willingness to support the team to get the job done.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Geography, Cartography, GIS, or related field will be preferred)
• Basic experience in GIS mapping and digitization, with strong proficiency in ArcGIS/QGIS.
• Familiarity with GIS data formats and data management.
• Experience with spatial analysis, map projections, and coordinate systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cartographic work.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
