Job summary

Purview Services is seeking a PMO Manager to drive governance across waterfall, agile, and hybrid projects. The role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and the ability to align project outcomes with business objectives.

You will guide project delivery, manage the PMO team, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to quality and budgeting standards while collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Five years of industry experience; supervisory experience advantageous.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience managing Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid projects.
  • Ability to monitor progress, track performance and measure value.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for providing guidance and support on projects and programmes which are delivering using Agile approaches.
  • Provide an environment to enable Agile projects to succeed and then supporting them throughout the lifecycle.
  • Expert in handling JIRA Migration (Data center to Cloud).
  • Ensuring the Programme is compliant with Change Management Framework and manages quality of data.
  • Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritise, and develop projects.
  • Ensure strong adherence to Project Risk and Opportunity Management requirements.
  • Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritising tasks, and assigning team members to deliverables.
  • Track the delivery every year and highlight risks, issues if any timely.
  • Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding standards.
  • Drafting new and improving PMO policies and processes.
  • Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they meet standards, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Documenting the project's creation, development, and execution including scope, budget, and justification.
  • Manage the PMO team and provide performance feedback and training.

The successful PMO manager will be used to different ways of working at different times. As it is not uncommon for some projects to be managed in a traditional waterfall fashion, with requirements defined up front and deliverables due by a given date. Other projects may be driven by agile teams that use continuous feedback loops to adjust their course and make incremental deliveries. There will also be hybrid ways of working that may prove to be the best way to achieve the desired outcome. The agile PMO has to be nimble enough to monitor progress, track performance, and measure value no matter how it was delivered.


To be successful as a PMO Manager, you should demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills. Ultimately, the PMO Manager will be well organised and able to work under pressure.


The PMO Manager will need to understand the wider objectives of their project, demonstrate credibility in that field and be able to influence others. They must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with senior managers, the programme office, the wider project and portfolio teams, and third parties.


PMO Manager Responsibilities:

  • Ensure strong adherence to Project Risk and Opportunity Management requirements

  • Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritising tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.

  • Track the delivery every year and highlight risks, issues if any timely.

  • Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards

  • Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.

  • Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.

  • Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification

  • Manage the PMO team and provide performance feedback and goal-setting, conducting annual performance assessments and skills development and training

  • Supporting both Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid projects having the ability to flex and adapt the existing service offering


PMO Manager Requirements:


  • High level of PC literacy with Microsoft products, in particular excellent Microsoft Excel / Project / PowerPoint skills

  • A minimum of five years' experience in the industry

  • A minimum of one year's experience in a supervisory position may be advantageous

  • Strong leadership skills preferred

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to details and technicalities

  • Excellent organizational and technical skills

  • Experience working in a technical environment

  • Proven understanding with regard to project governance, risk, and planning

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills

  • Effective communication skills to all levels of the business;

  • Proven track record in PMO management on large and complex portfolios and programmes

  • Experience in a range of delivery lifecycles waterfall, iterative, Agile, Hybrid etc.
