Job summary

TVASHTAR is seeking an accomplished High Jewellery Designer in Mumbai to translate concepts into extraordinary pieces. The role focuses on original design, technical craftsmanship and collaboration with CAD teams to deliver one-of-a-kind jewellery.

The candidate will work on diamonds, rare gemstones, and unique stone combinations while refining an exclusive design language with the founder and craftspeople.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years in fine/high jewellery design.
• Outstanding sketching and original concept development.
• Strong understanding of diamonds, coloured gemstones, settings and precious metals.

Responsibilities

• Develop original high-jewellery concepts (rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches, bespoke pieces).
• Create hand sketches, colour renderings, mood boards, design presentations.
• Design around diamonds and rare gemstones, unusual cuts and stone combinations.
• Understand gemstone proportions, settings, metal construction and balance.
• Collaborate with the founder to establish a distinctive high-jewellery language.
• Coordinate with CAD team to translate designs into manufacturable pieces.
• Review CAD models, prototypes, samples and finished pieces.
• Collaborate with craftsmen and external partners.

The Role

We are looking for an accomplished High Jewellery Designer with exceptional artistic ability, design sensitivity and knowledge of precious jewellery.

This is a creative role for someone who can translate a concept into an extraordinary, technically considered piece of jewellery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop original high-jewellery concepts, including rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, brooches and bespoke pieces.
• Create exceptional hand sketches, colour renderings, mood boards and detailed design presentations.
• Design around diamonds, rare coloured gemstones, unusual cuts and unique stone combinations.
• Understand gemstone proportions, setting techniques, metal construction and visual balance.
• Work closely with the founder to establish a distinctive high-jewellery design language.
• Coordinate with the CAD team to translate designs into manufacturable pieces without compromising artistic intent.
• Review CAD models, prototypes, samples and finished pieces.
• Collaborate with craftsmen and external manufacturing partners.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant fine or high jewellery design experience.
• Outstanding sketching, rendering and original concept-development skills.
• Strong understanding of diamonds, coloured gemstones, settings and precious metals.
• Experience with high-end bespoke or one-of-a-kind jewellery.
• Ability to communicate technical details clearly to CAD designers and craftsmen.
• CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator or equivalent digital design proficiency is useful.
• Strong portfolio of original work is mandatory.
