Responsibilities
- Jewellery Repair & Modification
- Perform high-precision ring resizing, soldering, diamond/gemstone setting, and polishing across gold and platinum jewellery.
- Execute in-store repair work on brand products while maintaining luxury-grade finish and craftsmanship.
- Ensure all repairs are completed within committed turnaround timelines.
- Old Gold Melting & Valuation Support
- Conduct old gold melting using appropriate techniques and tools as per exchange procedures.
- Follow SOPs for melting, purity analysis, weight recording, and recovery, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Provide technical inputs to the sales team during gold exchange assessments.
- Metal and Gemstone Expertise
- Work confidently with 14K, 18K, 22K gold and platinum jewellery.
- Apply proper repair techniques based on metal characteristics and structural integrity.
- Accurately identify and handle diamonds and gemstones during repairs or settings.
- Repair Stock Handling & Weekly Audits
- Maintain and manage in-store repair spares including stones, solitaires, shanks, wires, screws, clasps, etc.
- Ensure all items are tagged, stored securely, and tracked with accurate documentation.
- Tally opening and closing balances of repair stock on a daily basis.
- Conduct weekly audits of repair inventory and coordinate with the Boutique Commercial Manager for variance reconciliation or reorder needs.
- Safety, Compliance & Workshop Maintenance
- Follow store-level SOPs, compliance, and safety protocols for tools, product handling, and repairs.
- Operate machinery (e.g., melting units, polishing motors, soldering equipment) safely and responsibly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional in-store workshop at all times.
- Log all service activities and inventory updates in manual or digital registers as per policy.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Expert-level skills in soldering, resizing, diamond setting, filing, and polishing
- Proven ability to work with multiple gold karats and platinum
- Familiarity with melting procedures, workshop tools, and safety guidelines
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to luxury-level finishing
- Competence in basic recordkeeping and stock tracking
- Ability to work independently, manage time, and coordinate with team members and clients
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-7 years of experience as a Karigar in a luxury or branded jewellery environment
- Experience in old gold melting and gold recovery processes is preferred
- Strong knowledge of jewellery construction and workshop standards
