Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking an experienced ERP integration specialist to design and enhance JD Edwards (JDE) on IBM AS/400 / IBM i. You will develop interfaces to warehouse-management systems, support batch processes, and ensure robust integration across ERP, WMS, and middleware domains.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in enterprise applications, deep IBM i techs (DB2 for i, RPG/RPGLE, CL), and a strong focus on production support, debugging, and logistics knowledge to optimize warehouse operations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise application development experience.
• Strong experience with JD Edwards on IBM AS/400 / IBM i.
• Hands-on knowledge of IBM i technologies including DB2 for i, RPG/RPGLE, CL/CLLE.
• Experience building integrations between JDE and WMS platforms.
• Familiarity with middleware frameworks; MIF is preferred.
• Understanding logistics, warehouse operations, and supply-chain processes.
• Excellent debugging and production-support skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support JDE solutions on IBM i platforms.
• Develop interfaces between JDE and warehouse-management systems.
• Handle legacy IBM i components, batch jobs, and database objects.
• Analyze requirements and translate them into ERP/WMS solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues across JDE, WMi, MIF, and DB2.
• Support core supply-chain workflows: orders, inventory movements, receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, replenishment, and warehouse transfers.
• Develop and maintain integration via batch files, databases, APIs, or messaging.
• Implement logging, monitoring, error handling, release management, and hypercare.
• Create technical docs and interface specs; work with architects and teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, test, and support solutions involving JDE on AS/400 / IBM i, WMi, and MIF.
• Develop and maintain interfaces between JDE and warehouse-management systems.
• Work with legacy IBM i components, batch jobs, database objects, files, and integration processes.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions across ERP, WMS, and middleware platforms.
• Troubleshoot production issues across JDE, WMi, MIF, DB2, batch processes, interfaces, and downstream systems.
• Support core supply-chain workflows including:
• Order processing
• Inventory movements
• Receiving
• Put-away
• Picking
• Packing
• Shipping
• Replenishment
• Warehouse transfers
• Shipment confirmation
• Perform impact analysis for changes across interconnected systems.
• Develop and maintain interfaces using batch files, database transactions, messaging, APIs, or other integration mechanisms.
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, reconciliation, and error-handling mechanisms.
• Support testing, release management, deployment, production support, and hypercare.
• Create technical documentation, interface specifications, support procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Work closely with the Architect, business analysts, supply-chain teams, and production-support teams.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of enterprise application development experience.
• Strong development experience with JD Edwards running on IBM AS/400 / IBM i.
• Hands-on knowledge of IBM i technologies, preferably including:
• DB2 for i
• RPG / RPGLE
• CL / CLLE
• Batch jobs and job queues
• File and database processing
• Experience supporting or developing integrations between JDE and WMS platforms.
• Hands-on experience with WMi or a comparable on-premise Warehouse Management System.
• Experience with middleware/integration frameworks; MIF experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of logistics, warehouse operations, inventory, and supply-chain processes.
• Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and production-support skills.
• Experience with batch, file, database, API, and messaging-based interfaces.

Preferred Experience

• Retail, distribution, CPG, or logistics industry experience.
• Experience supporting high-volume, business-critical warehouse environments.
• Familiarity with warehouse automation and RF-enabled operations.
• Experience modernizing or exposing AS/400 / IBM i functionality through APIs or modern integration layers.
• Exposure to CI/CD, monitoring, observability, and automation.

The team should collectively bring: JDE on AS/400 / IBM i expertise + WMi expertise + MIF / integration expertise + Logistics & Supply Chain domain knowledge

The key requirement is the ability to understand the full business and technical transaction lifecycle: JDE / ERP → MIF Middleware → WMi / Warehouse Execution → Logistics & Fulfillment

The team should be equally comfortable supporting the stability of the current legacy landscape while identifying opportunities to simplify, automate, and modernize the platform over time.
