Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a Senior Java Developer with 8+ years of experience to join our engineering teams in Chennai. You will work on core Java and J2EE, leverage Spring, JPA/Hibernate, and Spring Boot to build RESTful microservices, and interact with MySQL databases.

Proficiency in API documentation with Swagger and Postman, plus Azure, Redis, and Elasticsearch, is expected. You will collaborate with product and technical managers to shape architectural decisions, maintain high-quality code

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience with Java and J2EE.
• Strong knowledge of Spring, JPA/Hibernate, and microservices.
• Experience with RESTful services and API design using Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in relational databases (MySQL) and data modeling.
• Experience documenting APIs and workflows using Swagger and Postman.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud services and caching/search tech (Redis, Elasticsearch).

Responsibilities

• Work closely with managers to plan projects and activities.
• Develop and implement an architecture strategy.
• Facilitate team collaboration and best practices in software engineering.

Requirements

• Should be strong in Core JAVA and Design Principles
• Should be very strong in J2EE with Spring, JPA and Hibernate
• Should be very strong in Spring Boot with RESTful Webservices and Microservices
• Should have working experience on RDBMS / MySQL databases
• Should be proficient in documenting the process and code using standard tools like POSTMAN, Swagger etc.,
• Should be proficient with Azure services
• Basic understanding of Caching (Redis) and Search/Index Platform (Elastic Search)

Job responsibilities

Minimum 8 years of software development experience

• Work closely with Managers (Technical and Product) to define and plan projects and activities
• Develop and implement an architecture strategy
• Facilitate team collaboration towards software engineering best practices, and solutions that meet customer needs
• Ensuring high quality code is produced and maintained through code review and frequent defect prevention activity
• Work closely in small teams to create well integrated products in short design cycles with good documentation and reusable artifacts
