Job summary

Citi in Pune seeks an applications development professional with 3-5 years of experience to design, develop, and support secure software solutions. You will work across Java/J2EE, Spark, Python, and SQL, with exposure to microservices and AI/RAG concepts, and hands-on Big Data and cloud technologies.

You will collaborate with users and technology teams, mentor junior staff, and help maintain robust, compliant systems while advancing Citi's technology capabilities and security posture.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE/Spark/Python/PySpark/design patterns & web application development frameworks (Spring, Hibernate)
• DB SQL proficiency
• Understanding of Micro Services / AI concepts / RAG
• Understanding of Big Data technologies (HDFS, Hive)
• Understanding of Cloud technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift)
• Strong system analysis and software development skills
• Demonstrated leadership and clear communication abilities

Responsibilities

• Identify and define system enhancements using existing procedures and code analysis
• Consult with users and tech groups to propose programming solutions and support customer exposure systems
• Apply programming knowledge to design specifications
• Analyze applications for vulnerabilities, test and debug
• Mentor or coach junior analysts
• Identify problems and recommend solutions with informed judgment
• Assist in risk assessment and ensure compliance with laws and Citi policies

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
