Job summary

Citigroup Inc. in Pune, India, is seeking an experienced Applications Developer to design, develop, and secure enterprise applications. You will work with Java/J2EE, Spark, Python and big data tools to implement microservices and cloud-native solutions.

The role requires collaboration with users, clients, and technology teams, and involvement in testing, debugging, and mentoring junior staff. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis.
• Proficiency in Java/J2EE, Spark, Python, and web application frameworks.
• SQL proficiency and understanding of microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies and cloud containers.
• Strong written and verbal communication with leadership capability.

Responsibilities

• Identify system enhancements and define requirements with users and technology groups.
• Consult with users and clients on issues, recommend programming solutions and support exposure systems.
• Apply fundamentals of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications for security vulnerabilities, perform testing and debugging.
• Provide guidance as advisor to junior analysts and manage risk with due diligence.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts
• Identify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions
• Resolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE/Spark/Python/PySpark/design patterns & web application development framework like Spring, Hibernate
  • DB SQL proficiency
  • Understanding of Micro Service / Agentic AI / RAG
  • Understanding of Big Data Technologies like HDFS, HIVE
  • Understanding of Cloud technology like Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift
• Good experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
