Job summary

Weekday AI seeks an experienced Java Solution Architect to lead design and governance of scalable, secure, cloud-native enterprise applications. The role emphasizes Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AI-native patterns such as RAG and LLMs, with hands-on work in GenAI integrations.

You will mentor teams, drive architecture reviews, and collaborate with client and partner teams across on-prem and cloud environments, including Azure OpenAI services.

Qualifications

• At least 9+ years of software engineering experience, with 3–5+ years in solution/application architecture.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Spring Batch.
• Hands-on experience with AI-native architecture, including RAG, embeddings, LLMs, agentic frameworks, and Generative AI integrations.
• Strong experience with Azure OpenAI, cloud AI services, LLM deployment, and GenAI application development.

Responsibilities

• Design and own scalable, secure, and resilient Java-based architectures and microservices.
• Define technical architecture for enterprise apps across on-prem and cloud.
• Create and maintain High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure adherence to standards.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship on architecture decisions.
• Collaborate with onshore client and partner teams on requirements and delivery milestones.
• Design AI-native architectures using RAG, embeddings, LLMs, and agentic frameworks.
• Integrate Azure OpenAI and other cloud AI services into enterprise apps.
• Develop strategies for memory and context management and scalability in AI-powered apps.
• Evaluate and guide Generative AI solution deployments and optimizations.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• 9+ years of software engineering experience, with 13+ years preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience in solution/application architecture, covering both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Expert-level proficiency inJava, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Spring Batch.
• Strong experience designingmicroservices and scalable enterprise applications.
• Hands-on experience withAI-native architecture, including RAG, embeddings, LLMs, agentic frameworks, and Generative AI integrations.
• Strong experience withAzure OpenAI, cloud AI services, LLM deployment, and GenAI application development.
• Experience with model fine-tuning and integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding ofHLD, LLD, system design, architecture patterns, and technical governance.
• Experience with DevOps and engineering tools includingMaven, Git, CI/CD, and Autosys.
• Strong understanding of application security, systems development, and enterprise technology architecture.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to make sound architectural decisions and communicate technical trade-offs.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead architecture discussions, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
• Experience working with distributed, cross-functional, and client-facing teams.
• Knowledge ofLinux and RPM packagingis an advantage.
• Candidates with provenAI-native architecture experience across RAG, LLMs, and agentic frameworkswill be strongly preferred.
