Job summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the technical design and drive full‑stack development across enterprise applications in Bengaluru. You will shape architecture, coding standards, and engineering practices, mentoring teams and ensuring scalable, secure solutions.

You will actively code in Java/Spring Boot, build REST APIs and frontend work with React/Angular, and contribute to AI‑driven SDLC practices while embracing DevOps, cloud, and distributed systems for robust product

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and development of complex enterprise applications, defining architecture, patterns, standards, and engineering practices.
• Develop and maintain scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot; build RESTful APIs and microservices; perform code reviews and testing.
• Design frontend applications with React/Angular/TypeScript/JavaScript and ensure UI–API–service–DB stack health.
• Mentor developers and promote strong engineering practices across the team.
• Participate in architecture/design reviews; drive AI-enabled SDLC practices and discuss integration of AI tools.
• Oversee cloud/DevOps practices including CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes, and observability for microservices.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. 1. Technical Leadership
   Lead the technical design and development of complex enterprise applications. Define application architecture, design patterns, coding standards, and engineering practices. Make pragmatic technology and architecture decisions balancing scalability, maintainability, security, performance, and time-to-market. Conduct architecture/design reviews and provide technical direction to development teams. Identify and resolve complex technical issues and production problems. Mentor developers and establish strong engineering practices across the team.
2. 2. Hands‑on Full‑Stack Development
   Develop and maintain scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot. Build RESTful APIs and microservices. Design and implement frontend applications using React / Angular / TypeScript / JavaScript. Work across the complete application stack—from UI and APIs to databases, messaging, and cloud infrastructure. Participate actively in coding, debugging, refactoring, and performance optimization. Perform detailed code reviews and ensure adherence to engineering standards. Design and implement automated unit, integration, API, and end‑to‑end testing.
3. 3. Java & Backend Engineering
   Strong hands‑on experience with: Java 11/17/21+ Spring Boot Spring Framework / Spring Security REST APIs Microservices architecture JPA / Hibernate SQL and relational databases NoSQL databases Kafka or other event‑driven/messaging technologies Multithreading and concurrency JVM performance tuning Distributed systems API security, authentication, and authorization
4. 4. Frontend Engineering
   Hands‑on experience with one or more modern frontend ecosystems: React / Angular TypeScript JavaScript HTML5 / CSS3 REST/API integration State management Responsive web application development Frontend testing frameworks The candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting issues across the UI → API → service → database stack.
5. 5. AI‑Based Software Engineering
   The candidate should understand and demonstrate practical adoption of AI across the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Experience with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Amazon Q Developer, or equivalent AI engineering tools is desirable. The candidate should be able to demonstrate how AI can be integrated into engineering workflows rather than simply using AI as a coding assistant.
6. 6. Cloud & DevOps
   Experience with modern cloud‑native engineering practices: AWS / Azure / GCP Docker Kubernetes CI/CD Git Jenkins / GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Azure DevOps Infrastructure as Code Observability and monitoring Logging and distributed tracing Experience deploying and operating microservices in a cloud environment is highly desirable.
7. 8. Software Architecture
   Strong understanding of: Microservices Domain‑Driven Design SOLID principles Design patterns Event‑driven architecture Distributed systems API‑first architecture Ability to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and architecture.
