SKIDATA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our R&D team in Bangalore, driving end-to-end software delivery across IoT, cloud, and mobility platforms. You will shape roadmaps, collaborate with stakeholders, and translate client needs into robust, scalable solutions.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on Java development, Spring Boot, and modern testing frameworks, with strong CI/CD practices and experience in relational databases.

Qualifications

• Engineering bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Java 8+ and Spring Boot; testing with JUnit or Cypress.

Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

What You’ll Do

• Own End-to-End Delivery: Code, design, execute, and take full responsibility for the delivery and maintenance of software projects and products.
• Shape the R&D Roadmap: Partner with business stakeholders to define project deliverables and manage the roadmap of R&D initiatives.
• Bridge Client Needs: Collaborate with Technical Relationship Managers and Architects to translate client-initiated R&D requests into robust solutions.
• Drive Issue Resolution: Act as the go-to point of contact for managing and driving production defects through to resolution.
• Streamline Critical Processes: Tailor processes to manage time-sensitive issues and bring them to swift, effective closure.

In this role, you’ll take real ownership of the products that keep the world’s access systems running smoothly. You’ll work alongside a talented, collaborative team where your technical expertise directly shapes outcomes for our clients, and where continuous learning and growth are part of everyday work.

What You Bring

• Engineering bachelor’s degree (BE/B.Tech/MCA or equivalent) in Computer Science
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
• Strong working knowledge of Java 8+, ORM, and Spring Boot, with experience in a testing framework such as JUnit or Cypress
• Practical experience with at least one relational database (MySQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL)
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, strong debugging skills, and experience with log frameworks such as ELK
• Familiarity with CI/CD and Docker/Kubernetes, and knowledge of a message queue such as RabbitMQ or Kafka, is a plus
• Demonstrated track record delivering enterprise-grade software end-to-end, including providing technical guidance to others
• Strong background in continuous integration practices, with excellent analytical, reasoning, and communication skills
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and the ability to advocate for and influence multiple stakeholders
• Attention to detail and quality, with the ability to work well in and across teams
