Job summary

Iris Software is seeking an experienced Delivery/Program Manager to lead complex Java and Microservices projects for global clients. You will oversee large, distributed delivery teams, manage senior stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery across multiple engagement models.

Ideal candidates have strong Java tech skills, enterprise project management experience, and a proven ability to drive change and cost optimization in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Mandatory competencies include Java 17 and Spring Boot.
• Strong knowledge of Java OOP concepts and multithreading.
• Experience with microservices, messaging, and data persistence (JPA).
• Familiarity with Maven as a build tool and unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Experience in IT delivery roles with large, geographically distributed teams.
• Financial services background preferred.
• Set up medium-sized delivery teams (25+ people) across projects/work streams.
• Experience with Java and Microservices tech stack.
• Manage delivery engagements across full SDLC with agile, iterative, waterfall, or hybrid methods.
• Work with quality frameworks such as CMMI.
• Handle various service offerings and engagement models; manage senior stakeholders (NA).
• Be consultative and solutions-oriented; define delivery engagements and troubleshoot issues.
• Strong cost estimation, business communication, and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of project financials, contracts, and delivery leadership on high-risk projects.
• Drive change, continuous improvement, and margin enhancement; manage leads/PMs in matrix org.
• Willingness for short-term overseas travel.

Job Description

15-18 years of experience in the IT industry in delivery roles; 4+ years on experience in program or LoB management with large, geographically distributed teams (onshore and offshore).

Financial Service background must have.

• Experience of setting up medium size delivery teams (25+ people) organized across one or more projects/ work streams.
• Tech stack Experience : Java, Microservices
• Project or Program management experience across the full SDLC lifecycle involving different methodologies like agile, iterative, waterfall and hybrid.
• Prior experience of managing delivery engagements with quality frameworks such as CMMI.
• Experience across service offerings (e.g. application development, maintenance, re[1]engineering, migration, etc.), different pricing models (fixed price, fixed capacity, time and material, client manage etc.) and engagement models (partner/ vendor managed, co-managed and client managed).
• Prior experience in managing demanding senior stakeholders with customers based out of North America.
• Must be consultative and solutions' oriented; prior experience of structuring or defining solutions-oriented delivery engagements and troubleshooting critical delivery issues.
• Strong commercial acumen with high proficiency in effort/ cost estimation.
• Very strong business communication, negotiation and conflict management skills.
• Strong knowledge of project financials and IT services contracts.
• "Hands on" delivery leadership experience on complex/ high risk projects.
• Strong outcomes focused leadership skills with strong people focus.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement journeys across delivery excellence and margin improvement.
• Prior experience of managing leads / PMs in a matrix organization.
• Flexibility to need based, short term overseas travel.
