Job summary

HSBC Software Development India is seeking an experienced Consultant Specialist to design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and AI-assisted features. You will implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, containerize with Docker and Kubernetes, and design messaging with Kafka or Pub/Sub.

You’ll work with MongoDB and relational databases, ensure code quality with SonarQube and JWT-based security, and perform extensive testing with JUnit/Mockito.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with Java (11/21+) and Spring Boot.
• Deep understanding of RESTful architectural principles and JWT authentication.
• Practical experience using AI coding assistants to optimize productivity while maintaining code quality and security.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, Docker, and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Proven experience implementing messaging architectures with Kafka, Pub/Sub.
• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and database design principles.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and configuration/markup languages (JSON, YAML).
• Experience with quality scan tools like SonarQube and fixing security vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

• Work with NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and relational databases, optimizing queries and data models.
• Enforce coding standards through static analysis and proactively resolve security vulnerabilities.
• Implement robust authentication/authorization patterns, including JWT.
• Write and execute unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Conduct load testing, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root-cause analysis.

To be successful in this role, candidate should meet the following requirements:
