Job summary

Algoleap Technologies Pvt Ltd in Hyderabad is seeking a hands-on Java backend engineer to design, develop, test and maintain microservices using Java and Spring Boot, and to build front-end components with Angular when needed, integrating with backend APIs. The role requires cloud experience (AWS or Azure), SQL scripting, performance tuning, and strong knowledge of design patterns.

You will participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to code reviews and documentation to uphold engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on experience building production-grade applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures.
• Cloud platform experience (AWS or Azure).
• Practical experience with Angular for front-end development.
• Extensive exposure to SQL scripting, production incident root cause analysis and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and support front-end components using Angular where required, integrating with backend APIs.
• Deploy, monitor and troubleshoot services on cloud platforms (AWS / Azure).
• Write and optimise SQL scripts; investigate and resolve data-related issues.
• Perform root cause analysis of production incidents and drive permanent fixes to improve platform stability.
• Conduct performance tuning and optimisation across services and database layers.
• Participate in agile ceremonies - sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups and PI planning - and collaborate closely with QA, product and sister teams.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation and knowledge-sharing to maintain engineering quality standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong hands-on experience building production-grade applications with Java and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures.
• Solid working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure).
• Practical experience with Angular for front-end development.
• Extensive exposure to SQL scripting, production incident root cause analysis and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and best practices for maintainable, high-performing systems.

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes) and observability tooling.
• Familiarity with agile/SAFe delivery models and tools such as JIRA.
• Exposure to facilities-management, scheduling or enterprise SaaS domains.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
