Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Vice President - Java Developer to lead design, development, and optimization of Java-based applications within the Global Technology team. Based in Pune, you will mentor engineers, manage stakeholders, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive secure, scalable software delivery.

You will collaborate across product, design, and engineering to align tech with business goals, promote code quality, and stay abreast of industry trends.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java programming language.
• Expertise in developing and optimizing Java-based applications.
• Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API development.
• Experience designing scalable backend applications in Java.
• Proficiency in both Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
• Familiarity with the complete software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
• Minimum qualification – bachelor’s degree.

You will also manage stakeholder relationships, communicate complex ideas effectively, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. To design, develop and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

This role is based in Pune.
