Job summary

FIS is seeking a Java Developer to join the Bangalore-based EB team responsible for Kafka-based event processing and delivery. You will build and enhance Java applications using Java 8/21, Spring Boot, and SQL, while supporting production deployments and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work on fault-tolerant event delivery, retries, and endpoint integrations in a Linux/Unix environment, with exposure to CI/CD, Agile methodologies, and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java (8 and 21) with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java applications and enhancements for the Australia deployment of Event Broker (CBA).
• Support Kafka-based event flows, troubleshoot delivery failures, and maintain retry and webhook components.
• Assist with production deployments and post-deployment support, including connectivity and downstream endpoint issues.

Java Developer (Java, Spring Boot, SQL) - 6 to 10yrs - Bangalore

About the Team

FIS Event Broker (EB) is an enterprise platform responsible for Kafka-based event processing and event delivery within and outside FIS. The platform consists of Java-based applications supporting event transformation, delivery, retry, alerting, and integration with downstream endpoints. The Australia implementation supports CBA MeMo and includes production deployment and operational support.

What you will be doing

• This position is a replacement for Sharma, Ajay and will primarily support the Australia deployment of Event Broker for CBA.
• Responsibilities will include Java development and enhancements, supporting Kafka-based event flows, troubleshooting event-delivery failures, maintaining retry and webhook components, production deployments, and post-deployment/production support.
• The role will also require investigation of connectivity and downstream endpoint issues and coordination with relevant support teams.

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, ELK, or Grafana.
