The role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering scalable Java-based applications and systems for large enterprise environments. This position will translate business requirements into technical solutions, support high-quality software delivery, resolve technical issues, and contribute to innovation through modern development practices, microservices architecture, and cloud computing.
- Required Java: At least 7 years of professional experience developing Java-based applications and systems.
- Java Development Tools: Experience using standard Java development, testing, debugging, build, and deployment tools.
- Software Development Methodologies: Practical experience with Agile, Scrum, or comparable iterative delivery methodologies.
- Application Development: Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting enterprise Java applications.
- Version Control and Collaboration Tools: Experience using organization-approved source control, issue tracking, code review, and collaboration tools.
- Testing Tools: Experience developing and executing unit, integration, and functional tests for Java applications.
- Enterprise Delivery Practices: Experience delivering Java-based solutions within a large enterprise environment.

Lead, coordinate, and mentor a team of Java developers while supporting effective collaboration, technical growth, and high-quality delivery. Develop, enhance, maintain, test, and deploy Java-based applications and systems that meet defined business and technical requirements. Design and implement scalable, efficient, maintainable, and supportable Java solutions for large enterprise environments. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs, development tasks, implementation plans, and measurable delivery outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, manage dependencies, and support informed engineering decisions. Apply software development methodologies, coding standards, testing practices, and documentation requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle. Troubleshoot application defects, performance issues, integration challenges, and production incidents within agreed timelines. Contribute to the adoption of microservices architecture, cloud computing, and other relevant technologies where they support business and operational objectives. Review technical designs, code, test results, and implementation plans to identify risks and improve solution quality. Promote maintainable solutions that use resources efficiently, reduce avoidable processing, and consider sustainability in application design and cloud usage where applicable. Track delivery progress, communicate risks and dependencies, and support continuous improvement across the development team.
Essential: At least 7 years of professional experience with Java programming. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, exception handling, collections, concurrency, and application design principles. Experience developing, debugging, testing, and maintaining Java-based enterprise applications.
Preferred: Experience with Java 11 or later. Experience with scripting or additional programming languages used to support automation, integration, or application operations.
Essential Experience integrating Java applications with relational or enterprise data stores. Ability to work with application data models, queries, transactions, data validation, and persistence requirements. Experience troubleshooting application issues involving data access, consistency, or performance.
Preferred: Experience with both relational and non-relational databases. Familiarity with database performance optimization, indexing, transaction management, and data migration.
Essential Understanding of cloud computing concepts relevant to application development, deployment, scalability, and support. Ability to contribute to Java application delivery in cloud-based or hybrid environments.
Preferred Hands-on experience deploying or supporting Java applications on cloud platforms. Experience with cloud-native development, containerized applications, scalable services, monitoring, and resource optimization.
Essential Experience using Java frameworks and libraries to develop maintainable enterprise applications. Understanding of application layers, service components, dependency management, configuration, and integration patterns. Experience designing or supporting scalable application components.
Preferred Experience developing microservices-based applications. Exposure to frameworks and libraries used for web applications, REST services, dependency injection, persistence, messaging, or distributed systems. Experience applying design patterns and principles that improve application maintainability and reuse.
Essential Experience with Agile, Scrum, or comparable software development methodologies. Experience with source control, code reviews, defect tracking, build management, testing, deployment, and technical documentation. Experience participating in requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, release, and post-production support. Experience leading or coordinating development activities within a team.
Preferred Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices. Exposure to automated build, deployment, quality analysis, monitoring, and containerization tools. Experience working with iterative planning, estimation, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.
Essential Understanding of secure software development practices for Java applications. Ability to apply appropriate authentication, authorization, input validation, secure error handling, and protection of sensitive data. Awareness of secure API communication, access controls, vulnerability management, and organizational security standards.
Preferred Experience implementing security controls in microservices or cloud-based applications. Exposure to secure coding assessments, application security testing, encryption practices, and security reviews.
