Job summary

AutomationEdge is hiring a Java Developer (Fresher) to join the Product Engineering team in India. You will work on enterprise-grade applications using Core Java, Spring Boot, and microservices, building REST APIs and backend modules.

You’ll learn cloud, containers, and AI-enabled solutions while collaborating with Product, Engineering, QA, and DevOps. Ideal candidates have a strong Java foundation, basic SQL, and willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates with BE/BTech/MTech/MCA; strong foundation in Core Java, OOP, and database concepts.
• Willingness to learn emerging technologies like cloud and AI-enabled apps; good problem-solving.
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile methodologies; basic SQL and REST API understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend modules under senior guidance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following standards.
• Participate in development of microservices-based applications and enterprise software solutions.
• Work with relational databases to develop queries, stored procedures, and data access components.
• Learn software design principles, OOP concepts, and secure coding practices.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, QA, and DevOps to deliver quality software.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Support application deployment, testing, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop RESTful APIs and backend modules under the guidance of senior developers.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following coding standards and best practices.
• Participate in the development of microservices‑based applications and enterprise software solutions.

• Stay updated with the latest Java technologies, frameworks, and software development best practices.

Required Technical Skills

• Good knowledge of Core Java, Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP), Collections, Exception Handling, and Multithreading concepts.
• Basic understanding of Java 8 or above and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot knowledge is preferred).
• Understanding of REST APIs and client‑server application architecture.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic web application concepts is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Git or any version control system.
• Basic understanding of Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented design principles.
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and solving technical problems.

Good to Have

• Academic projects or internships using Java, Spring Boot, or REST APIs.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization concepts.
• Exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), or AI APIs through academic projects or self‑learning.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and software design patterns.
• Participation in coding competitions, hackathons, or open‑source contributions.
• Relevant Java certifications or cloud certifications will be an added advantage.
