Job summary

Northern Trust, Bengaluru office, is seeking an experienced API and microservices engineer to design, develop, and deploy scalable services. You will work with Java Spring Boot, Azure cloud services, and modern security practices to deliver robust, high‑quality solutions.

You will collaborate with architects, product owners, QA, and DevOps to design, implement, and maintain APIs, while contributing to CI/CD pipelines and comprehensive documentation. 4+ years of experience is expected.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of overall experience.
• Experience with Azure Cloud (APIM, Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, Key Vault, ADLS/Blob Storage, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Functions).
• Terraform for infrastructure provisioning.
• Building API services using OAuth2, JWT, API Keys, or Mutual TLS
• DevOps tools using Git, or CI/CD tools.
• OpenAPI / Swagger
• Maven, Gradle
• JSON, XML formats

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and implementing APIs and microservices using technologies like Java, Spring Boot, and others.
• Understanding and applying microservices architecture patterns, ensuring each service has a single responsibility and clear boundaries.
• Implementing robust security measures for APIs and microservices, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure seamless integration.
• Monitoring the performance of APIs and microservices, identifying and resolving issues, and ensuring they are operational.
• Creating and maintaining documentation for APIs, microservices, and related processes.
• Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate builds, testing, and deployments.
