Job Summary Synechron is seeking a Senior Java Developer – ETF Domain with 5+ years of hands‑on Java development experience and strong knowledge of Exchange‑Traded Funds, capital markets, investment management, and ETF lifecycle processes. The role will focus on designing, developing, integrating, and supporting enterprise applications for ETF creation and redemption, fund accounting, portfolio management, trading operations, portfolio analytics, and regulatory reporting. This position contributes to business objectives by delivering scalable, secure, and reliable solutions that support investment management workflows and financial market operations.

Software Requirements

Required Java: 5+ years of hands‑on development experience using Java; practical experience with Java 8, 11, or 17. Spring Boot and Spring MVC: Experience developing enterprise applications, REST services, and microservices. REST APIs and JSON: Experience designing, developing, consuming, testing, and supporting RESTful APIs and JSON‑based integrations. Microservices: Experience designing or developing microservices‑based applications and service integrations. SQL and Relational Databases: Strong SQL skills and experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or equivalent relational databases. Messaging Technologies: Experience with Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms. Git: Experience with source control, branching, merging, and code collaboration practices. Maven: Experience managing Java builds, dependencies, packaging, and project configuration. Jenkins and CI/CD Pipelines: Experience supporting automated build, testing, and deployment processes. Development and Testing Tools: Experience using tools for debugging, unit testing, integration testing, defect tracking, code reviews, and technical documentation. ETF and Investment Management Systems: Experience working with applications supporting ETF, portfolio management, fund accounting, trading, market data, or regulatory reporting processes. Containerization and Orchestration: Experience with containerized Java applications and related deployment practices. Financial Market Data Platforms: Exposure to market data integrations, pricing data, reference data, or financial instrument processing. API and Messaging Testing Tools: Experience with tools used to validate REST APIs, asynchronous services, and message flows. Agile Delivery Tools: Experience with backlog management, sprint planning, defect tracking, and delivery reporting tools.

Overall Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and support scalable Java applications for ETF and investment management business processes. Translate ETF business requirements into technical solutions, detailed designs, development tasks, and testable acceptance outcomes. Develop and support applications related to ETF creation and redemption, fund accounting, NAV calculations, portfolio management, trading operations, portfolio analytics, and regulatory reporting. Build, consume, and support RESTful APIs and microservices‑based applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JSON, and approved integration patterns. Integrate applications with market data sources, trading platforms, portfolio management systems, and other financial systems. Design and implement reliable data and messaging flows using Kafka, JMS, RabbitMQ, or comparable technologies. Participate in system design, architecture discussions, performance optimization, code reviews, testing, deployment, and post‑production support. Apply object‑oriented programming principles, design patterns, coding standards, secure development practices, and maintainable engineering approaches. Investigate and resolve production issues, identify root causes, communicate impacts, and implement timely and sustainable fixes. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, analysts, architects, testers, operations teams, and other technical contributors in Agile delivery environments. Ensure solutions support applicable investment management, regulatory, compliance, data protection, and operational requirements. Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, data mappings, design records, test evidence, support procedures, and release information. Contribute to efficient application design by reducing unnecessary processing, improving resource utilization, and considering sustainability in cloud and infrastructure usage where applicable.
