Job summary

Sunovaa Tech is seeking an experienced Software Engineer III / Senior Java Developer to design, build and maintain industrial-scale Java microservices. The role emphasizes designing, implementing and troubleshooting scalable systems, with a strong focus on CI/CD, security and performance.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer III / Senior Java Developer with strong hands‑on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, Kubernetes and Microservices Architecture.

The ideal candidate should have experience developing and supporting enterprise‑scale, distributed and highly available applications in a large corporate environment.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting secure, scalable production applications while contributing to system architecture, automation, resiliency and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality, production‑grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop scalable REST APIs and enterprise microservices.
• Design and implement event‑driven solutions using Apache Kafka.
• Work with Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets and Kafka Streams.
• Develop and deploy microservices on Kubernetes environments.
• Manage Kubernetes deployments, pods, services, ConfigMaps, Secrets, HPA and RBAC.
• Troubleshoot production issues across application, Kafka and Kubernetes environments.
• Design resilient distributed systems using retry mechanisms, circuit breakers, bulkheads and graceful degradation.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or ArgoCD.
• Work with SQL/NoSQL databases, including query optimization, indexing and schema design.
• Write unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, TestContainers or equivalent frameworks.
• Follow secure coding practices and OWASP Top 10 principles.
• Participate in system design and contribute to architecture decisions for complex applications.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Use enterprise‑approved AI‑assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or Claude Code to improve development productivity while validating AI‑generated code for quality, security and performance.
• Contribute to engineering standards, coding hygiene, automation and continuous improvement.
