Application Developer

Role Overview: This role will focus on the design, development, and deployment of production-grade AWS microservices. The Application Developer is responsible for building scalable applications using the API development using Java Spring Boot framework and integrating various AWS services. Tasks will include implementation of core service logic, writing comprehensive tests, and participate in parallel-run validation for Active Outage Management application.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable Java/Spring Boot applications in a cloud-native environment.

• 5+ years of Java development, with 2+ years on Spring Boot

• Hands-on experience with at least 3 of: AWS ECS, SQS, SNS, Aurora PostgreSQL, DocumentDB, EventBridge

• Strong SQL skills - complex queries, transactions, indexing strategies

• Experience with Kafka or any distributed messaging system

• Solid unit and integration testing practices

• Git workflow proficiency (feature branching, merge requests, CI pipelines)

• Comfortable working in an agile team with daily overlap hours for standups and design discussions.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience migrating legacy systems to cloud-native architectures

• MongoDB or DocumentDB experience (append-only patterns, TTL indexes)

• Docker and container-based development workflows.

• State machine implementations or complex event processing.

• Drools or rules engine concepts.

• Parallel-run or shadow-traffic validation approaches.

• Confirm minimum 4-hour daily overlap with US Eastern time zone.

Other Requirements:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey information clearly to a diverse audience, including leadership and technical teams.

• Shift Timings: 9 AM – 6 PM IST but would also require 4 hour overlap.
