Job summary

Codians.ai is seeking an experienced Java Backend + DevOps Engineer with 3–9 years of experience to build scalable backend services and manage cloud-native deployments in a dynamic team. You will design robust systems, implement event-driven architectures, and automate deployments to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.

We are looking for an experienced Java Backend + DevOps Engineer with 3-9 years of experience in developing scalable backend applications and managing cloud-native deployments. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing robust backend services, implementing event-driven architectures, automating deployment processes, and ensuring application scalability, reliability, and performance.

• Core Java & Backend Development: Strong proficiency in Core Java, object-oriented programming, multithreading, collections, and exception handling.
• Spring Boot & Microservices: Extensive experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Database Management: Hands-on experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• ORM & Persistence: Strong knowledge of Hibernate, JPA, or OpenJPA.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, deployment automation, and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for application deployment and management.
• Cloud Technologies: Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS, including relevant compute, networking, storage, and monitoring services.
• Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture: Experience with Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, or similar message‑broker technologies.
• API Management & Integration: Familiarity with API gateways, service integration, authentication, and legacy system integrations.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Core Java and Spring Boot.

• Design and optimize database queries, transactions, and persistence layers for Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience supporting production‑grade Java applications and cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of distributed systems, system design, application security, and high‑availability architectures.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix commands, shell scripting, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or AWS CloudWatch.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work across backend development and DevOps responsibilities.
